Pat Pat's Kansi - No Frills, No Nonsense Comfort Food

One of Iloilo's famous dishes is the Kansi. It is the region's version of bulalo. The main difference is that kansi comes without the frills, meaning it's straight up pure meat without the trappings of the veggies. It also has a slight tangy taste from the batuan fruit that is commonly used in the region as a souring agent.

Choose between having the unod (chunks of meat) or the lawas (bulalo/bone marrow). At about a P100+, it is a hearty and filling meal, all on it's own.

Other dishes are also available if you want to supplement your meal.

Pat Pat's Kansi has been serving this delicious comfort food since 1999. They have two branches in Iloilo. Find them in their Jaro branch which is a stone's throw away from Robinson's Jaro. The other one is at Valeria Ext.

Note: For those in Metro Manila, you may also try Pat Pat's Kansi in Makati :)

Pat Pat's Kansi offers an honest representation of what Ilonggo cuisine tastes like - no frills, pure comfort food.
